The introduction of Bombus ruderatus to Chile for red clover pollination

Abstract
Red clover, Trifolium pratense, is the main small-legume seed crop in Chile. Although 3000 hectares are harvested annually and average yields are about 250 kg/ha, yields could be higher if more effective pollinators were available. It is not native to South America.
