Abstract

With the world's media full of stories of the demise of the honey bee over the last few years, scientists have been exhaustively testing samples of dead bees for a range of pesticides, pests and pathogens. They have used techniques of ever increasing sophistication, but occasionally bee deaths defy explanation.
