Abstract
Beekeeping, as an outdoor activity, is usually seen as a healthy pursuit, and the health giving properties of its products often feature in this and other IBRA publications (e.g. Münstedt and Bogdanov, 2009). The most common harm to humans associated with beekeeping is usually thought to be due to the honey bee’s unfortunate desire to protect itself from our interference using its sting.
