Abstract There are estimated to be10,000 naturally grown plant species in Turkey and 3,500 of these are endemic. Owing to such rich plant cover, the content of Turkish propolis exhibits many biological effects. It is known for its antibacterial activity and has been used by mankind since ancient times for a variety of different purposes.
