Abstract
In 2011 the Journal of Apicultural Research (JAR) celebrated its 50th anniversary. In this Golden Jubilee year the scientific community of Poland was proud that the work of Prof. Jerzy Woyke from the University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, was given special recognition by the International Bee Research Association.
