Propolis, or 'bee-glue', is a traditional remedy in European folk medicine which is still widely used in eastern Europe. Interest in the use of propolis in pharmacology is steadily increasing among European research workers because of its proven anti microbial activity and the recent discovery that it contains a new family of anti-viral compounds known as caffeoylics8-besides having several other beneficial pharmacological effects.
