Abstract
Observations that honeybees were attracted to the electrical parts of a machine placed, by chance, near some hives, led to the development of this invention to collect venom. Tests were made with electrified glass plates so that the bees did not lose their stings (as occurs when they sting rubber-covered electric cables) and were not electrocuted. Success was immediate, although the device subsequently underwent successive improvements. Other methods for venom extraction were also tried, but did not achieve the same immediate success
