Abstract

Kashmir bee virus (KBV) belongs to the Picornavirus superfamily, the Dicistroviridae family and Cripavirus genus and is characterized by a single-stranded positive sense RNA. KBV is genetically related to ABPV (Acute bee paralysis virus) and IAPV (Israeli acute paralysis virus) and, as reported in the literature (De Miranda et al., 2010), these viruses have been associated to Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), together with other environmental or biological factors.
