Abstract

Beetles have rarely been reported in association with honeybees. Smith lists seven species which have been found in hives, namely-Aethiba tumida (Africa), Coenochilus bicolor (Africa), Dermenstes vulpinus (S.E. Asia), Diplognatha gagates (Africa), Holplostomus fuligneus (Africa), Platyholium alvearium (India), Rhizoplatys tritu tuberculatus (Africa).
