Abstract
The Magar of the Dhaulagiri region of west central Nepal are experienced both in hive beekeeping with ze (Apis cerana), and in collecting honey from wild bees, ghos, (Apis dorsata), using traditional methods which can be traced back over 2500 years to the rock paintings in other parts of the Indian subcontinent.
