Abstract
India has witnessed exemplary fast paced growth of beekeeping as an agro‐based subsidiary occupation. However, the major challenges ahead need to be addressed for sustaining the profitability of beekeeping in India. The authors are very much in the front line of developments being in charge of the Beekeeping Unit at Moga and senior staff members of the Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab. India.
