FREE AMINO ACID ANALYSIS OF HONEYS FROM ENGLAND AND WALES: APPLICATION TO THE DETERMINATION OF THE GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN OF HONEYS
A. M. C. DAVIES AND R. G. HARRIS
The content of free amino acids in 24 honeys from England and one from Wales were determined by ion-exchange chromatography. The results were compared with the analyses of 12 honeys from outside the UK, analysed at the same time, by two statistical methods. One method, canonical variates analysis, correctly distinguished between the British and foreign honeys.
