Abstract

Bombus terrestris is the first species of bumble bee to become established in Australia. Populations are successfully spreading throughout the island state of Tasmania, following an introduction in the early 1990s. However, there is considerable concern about the possible negative impacts bumble bees may have on Australian
ecosystems.
