Abstract	Thanks in large part to their agricultural importance and potential to inform human medicine, honey bees recently joined an elite group of animals. They are among the first insects whose entire genomes have been unveiled before the prying eyes of scientists. The results from this ongoing project promise to aid bee management and breeding.
